Defendant Found Not Guilty in Federal Court for Conspiracy to Traffic in Goods

Thirty two year old man was indicted for Trafficking in Counterfeit Goods after an investigation by the Border Patrol Enforcement and Immigration conducted two raids in the Mahoning County Area. It was alleged that hundreds of Thousands of dollars of counterfeit goods were being sold to customers.  This case received attention as it revealed questionable tactics by law enforcement not only in the investigation but also the presentation of reports and evidence admitted at trial. After the Government rested, the trial court granted the defense motion for acquittal. The defendant was found not guilty on all counts and released. Marcus Sidoti obtained the acquittal, his second in a row in Federal Trial.
