Mary Catherine Corrigan
Fighting for You, Your Rights and Your Life
Mary Catherine Corrigan is a native Clevelander with the experience and know-how to guide you through the criminal process. She focuses her legal career on criminal defense work, ranging from traffic cases and misdemeanors to felony cases, including capital murder, as well as post-conviction relief. She relates to the needs and situations of individual clients, promptly returns phone calls, and always makes time to discuss any questions or concerns a client might have. Mary Catherine has been working in advocacy for over eight years, and is not afraid to take a case to trial. She is ready and prepared to advocate for you in the courtroom.
Mary Catherine is a proud graduate of Charles F. Brush High School, in South Euclid-Lyndhurst. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication. While attending OU, Mary Catherine stood out on campus as the student coordinator for the Tour Guide Organization, and was also involved in Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, as well as Sigma Kappa Sorority. She received the Dean’s Scholarship during all academic terms. Mary Catherine also received the Political Communication Certificate, cumulating in the submission of her thesis: Racial Gerrymandering: Fact, Myth, or Mass Confusion, which was a comprehensive study of illegal racial lines used to determine the congressional districts in Louisiana.
After graduating from OU, Mary Catherine went on to study at the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in Washington, D.C., where she was one of ten recipients of the Bidwell Scholarship. Mary Catherine’s passion for criminal defense developed through her work on the National Mock Trial Team. She was selected to attend four competitions, and served as the lead counsel on three of the teams. This experience was complimented by her work as a Moffitt Fellow, at the Alexandria Public Defender’s office, where she worked primarily with indigent clients accused of domestic violence charges. Working at the Public Defender’s office opened her eyes to the plight of the wrongfully accused and to the importance of a dedicated and effective defense.
Mary Catherine is licensed to practice law in every court in the state of Ohio, and her dream of providing solid criminal defense work to those in need has been recognized, as she is frequently appointed to act as counsel for indigent defendants and juveniles in courts throughout North East Ohio.
“Every day, people are accused of crimes. These accusations cause issues inside and outside of the courtroom. It is my goal to be consistently available, persistently dedicated, and to provide you with the BEST legal guidance to help you both inside and outside of the courtroom. I will fight for you, your rights, and your life.”
In addition to criminal defense, Mary Catherine’s interests include long distance running, traveling, water sports, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
