Marcus graduated Cum Laude from the University of Findlay, where he double-majored in Psychology and Education, and was an Academic All-American wrestler. He continued his education at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. While in law school, he gained extensive legal experience as first assistant to the United States District Counsel for Immigration and Naturalization Services.
Upon passing the bar exam, he contemplated a career in law enforcement with the FBI, but decided to pursue his passion of representing the rights of individuals by joining the defense firm of Bruner & Jordan Co. LPA. A few years later, Marcus formed the law firm of Sidoti & Sidoti LPA, where he began focusing his practice in civil rights and criminal defense cases. Recently, Marcus joined longtime friend and mentor, Bret Jordan, as a partner with Jordan & Sidoti LLP.
Marcus is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the Cuyahoga Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is licensed to practice law Ohio and in the Western District of Pennsylvania. Marcus was recently named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association and also rated a Rising Star by the Super Lawyers rating service, which is comprised of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. His legal experience includes nearly one hundred (100) trials to verdict including but not limited to: Aggravated Murder; Murder; Felonious Assault; Rape; Kidnapping; Federal Conspiracy; Drug Crimes; Domestic Violence and Weapon Charges. Marcus has represented individuals throughout the State of Ohio, the United States and internationally.
Marcus’s civil rights experience goes hand-in-hand with his representation of those charged in criminal matters. He has spent years litigating complex Civil Rights matters while being on the forefront of changing laws and building relationships with respected experts throughout the United States in: Police Misconduct Cases; Excessive Force; Wrongful Incarceration; Malicious Prosecution; Abuse of Process; First Amendment and other violations of individuals Civil Rights.
